And who will shape the next generation of organisations that are innovative, ethical, responsible, sustainable, and inclusive?
The Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons.) at WPU GŌA prepares students to lead in a world where businesses operate as complex and interconnected systems influenced by culture, technology, economics, human behaviour, and global markets. It is a four-year undergraduate programme for intellectually ambitious students who aspire to lead businesses, build ventures, advise institutions, transform family enterprises, and shape the future of the global economy.
At WPU GŌA, management education begins not with formulas alone, but with first principles: how people decide, how systems function, how organisations grow, how societies prosper, and how leaders create trust in uncertain times. The programme blends core management education with systems thinking, behavioural science, communication, writing, design thinking, and data literacy. Students learn how organisations function not merely as economic entities, but as dynamic social and technological systems shaped by people, processes, policies, and global forces.
India’s rapid transformation and the global demand for agile, ethical leaders have created unprecedented opportunities in digital transformation, fintech, clean tech, startups, and digital public infrastructure. This programme equips graduates to thrive in volatile, uncertain environments through rigorous analytical training and transdisciplinary fluency.
The Bachelor of Management Sciences (Hons.) at WPU GŌA is a four-year undergraduate degree for students who aspire to understand business deeply and lead organisations responsibly. It is designed for a world where management is no longer confined to traditional corporate structures, but now extends across startups, digital platforms, family enterprises, consulting firms, global supply chains, social enterprises, and technology-enabled businesses.
The programme combines rigorous foundations in economics, finance, accounting, marketing, organisational behaviour, operations, analytics, entrepreneurship, and strategy with the broader capabilities demanded by contemporary leadership: communication, judgement, ethical reasoning, adaptability, and systems thinking.
Students begin by learning how markets function, how firms create value, and how decisions are made. They then progress into the functional disciplines of management before advancing into strategic thinking, leadership practice, innovation, and specialised pathways. Throughout the journey, academic learning is reinforced through projects, simulations, internships, immersions, research tasks, and a final capstone.
A defining strength of the programme is its dual-specialisation model. Every student develops depth through a Within-Domain Specialisation while also building breadth through a Cross Domain Specialisation. This enables graduates to combine business competence with complementary strengths such as technology management, design thinking, branding, customer experience, or innovation.
Graduates emerge prepared not only for employment, but for enterprise creation, institution building, family business transformation, and advanced study in India or abroad.

Immersion is a central pillar of the BMS programme, allowing students to connect classroom learning with real organisational contexts.
Students engage in introductory field observations, business visits, and communication workshops that help them understand how teams operate and how customer-facing processes work. These early experiences build awareness of systems, processes, and workplace culture. Students participate in a two-week International Immersion. They work on a Mini Grand Challenge that builds interdisciplinary collaboration and early systems thinking. They also spend one week at the Life Transformation Centre (LTC) — developing their ethical lens, leadership skills, and reflective clarity — and undertake a Pune industrial visit to observe real-world business environments.
In Year 2 students learn to connect their core discipline with society, behaviour, and complex systems. Students spend five days in rural Goa, transitioning from observation to active problem identification and project framing. The second semester features a domain-aligned trade show visit in the Asian region, combined with lectures at prominent regional institutions. The second year concludes with a two-month internship with an NGO, a social organisation, or an IAS officer.
Students engage with organisations across sectors such as retail, tourism, banking, consulting, manufacturing, and digital services. Through industry projects, they study organisational dynamics, analyse business problems, and gain exposure to real-time management scenarios. The National Immersion at an IIM deepens exposure to cutting-edge management education. The Dubai trade show introduces them to global market trends and provides exposure to global business ecosystems. Their 12-week industry internship becomes the foundation for Grand Challenge Studio II, where they turn insights into proposals.
Students undertake a professional internship or transdisciplinary Capstone project where they work directly with organisations or industries on strategic or operational projects. This final immersion informs the capstone project and shapes students as job-ready or venture-ready graduates.
Students appearing for Class 12 board examinations in 2026 are eligible to apply and can submit predicted scores or “Result Awaited” status initially. Final admission is confirmed only after submission of the official marksheet.
WPU GŌA follows a holistic, multi-stage admission process designed to identify well-rounded, high-potential students who align with the university’s transdisciplinary and values-driven ethos.

Q1. What makes the BMS programme at WPU GŌA different from traditional BBA/B.Com/BMS programmes? The WPU GŌA BMS is built on India’s first platform-based academic architecture. Every student completes two specialisations — one Within-Domain (depth) and one Cross-Domain (breadth) — along with a strong Common Core, mandatory studios every semester, an Independent Inquiry Period, extensive immersions, and a full-semester Capstone. The focus is on systems thinking, responsible leadership, real-world application, and transdisciplinary fluency rather than rote learning.
Q2. Can I customise my degree? Yes. You choose one Within-Domain Specialisation and one Cross-Domain Specialisation. You can also design a custom Cross-Domain pathway under faculty guidance and select Directed Electives to further personalise your learning.
Q3. What is the Independent Inquiry Period (IIP)? After Semester 5, you get a dedicated four-week period (credit-bearing) where regular classes are paused. You undertake a self-directed deep dive, such as developing a startup plan, market research, policy analysis, or Grand Challenge project. It builds intellectual independence and often becomes the foundation for your final Capstone.
Q4. How do studios work in the BMS programme? Every semester includes at least one studio — an intensive, project-based learning experience where you work in teams on real organisational challenges. Studios emphasise application, peer critique, iteration, and tangible deliverables (business plans, strategy decks, prototypes, etc.).
Q5. Is the programme suitable for students who want to become entrepreneurs? Absolutely. The Global Business and Startups specialisation, combined with venture labs, incubation support through Centres of Excellence, and the option to convert your Capstone into a live venture, makes it highly entrepreneurship-friendly.
Q6. What is the complete admission process for BMS?
Q7. What should I write in the Written Essay? Be authentic and reflective. Share your journey, why you want to study management, meaningful experiences, challenges overcome, and how your values align with WPU GŌA’s transdisciplinary and ethical philosophy. Focus on self-awareness and aspirations (max 750 words).
Q8. Can I apply if my Class 12 results are not yet declared? Yes. You can apply with “Result Awaited” status and predicted scores. Final admission is confirmed after you submit your official marksheet.
Q9. What is the fee for the 2026 batch? ₹7,50,000 per year (fixed for all four years, no escalation). This is a special inaugural batch fee and includes tuition, residential accommodation, meals, and all mandatory immersions.
Q10. Are scholarships available? Yes. Merit-based, need-cum-merit, and special scholarships are offered. Details and application process are available on the admissions portal after registration.
Q11. Are all immersions mandatory and covered in the fee? Yes. All mandatory immersions (International, National, Rural, Trade Shows, LTC, Active Citizenship Programme, and industry internships) are fully covered in the annual fee (travel, accommodation, meals, and insurance where applicable).
Q12. How much real-world exposure will I get? You will complete approximately 11 months of structured professional experience through progressive immersions, a two-month social internship, a 12-week industry internship, and a full-semester Capstone.
Q13. Is residential accommodation mandatory? Yes. WPU GŌA is a fully residential campus. Living in Learning Scholar Communities (LLSCs) is an integral part of the learning experience.
Q14. Are laptops mandatory? Yes. The programme is tech-enabled and requires students to bring their own laptop.
Q15. What kind of placements and career support does WPU GŌA provide? Career readiness begins in Year 1. You build a strong Digital Portfolio, gain extensive industry exposure, and complete a high-impact Capstone. The university leverages the broader MIT-WPU network and industry partnerships for internships, projects, and final placements.
Q16. Can I pursue higher studies after BMS? Yes. The rigorous curriculum, research exposure (IIP + Capstone), and strong academic foundation prepare students exceptionally well for MBA, specialised Masters, or other postgraduate programmes in India and abroad.
Q17. How does WPU GŌA prepare students for an AI-driven business world? Through mandatory AI Literacy, integration of analytics across courses, Cross-Domain options in AI Applications, and emphasis on ethical, human-centred decision-making, graduates learn to use AI as a powerful strategic co-pilot.
