Prof. Gyana Ranjan Tripathy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Climate Science at IISER Pune, where he leads the GRASP (Geochemical Research for Aquatic and Sedimentary Processes) laboratory. His group primarily aims to quantify low-temperature aquatic processes, including chemical weathering and climate interactions in the Himalayan river system, marine sediment geochemistry, and the global carbon cycle. His research expertise spans weathering, geochronology, and isotope geochemistry. He was selected as a Young Associate of the Indian Academy of Sciences in 2015, recognised for his work on surficial weathering processes, Re-Os geochronology, reconstruction of marine redox conditions of the geological past, and chemical weathering of Indian river basins. He has published extensively in leading international journals including Chemical Geology and Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta.

Prof. Sunil Kumar Singh is the Director of CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), Goa, and a Professor at the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. Born in 1971, he completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Tech.) from Banaras Hindu University and his PhD in Geology from the Physical Research Laboratory and M.S. University, Vadodara. He is a leading Indian geochemist known for his studies in low-temperature elemental and isotope geochemistry, with research that has advanced understanding of the evolution of the Himalayas and biogeochemical cycling in the Indian Ocean. His research interests span geochemistry, isotope chemistry, palaeoclimate, palaeoceanography, nutrient cycling, and biogeochemistry. He has been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Indian Society of Applied Geochemists (ISAG) for his contributions to Earth Sciences and applied geochemistry.
