Clinical Practice Combined with Computational Methods
More than a traditional psychology degree: cognitive science, computational modelling, data reasoning and human-technology research sit alongside clinical and counselling foundations.
How do we train clinicians and researchers who understand the human mind through both clinical practice and computational, data-driven methods?
Who will meet India’s mental-health gap with practice-ready, community-grounded psychologists rather than theory-only graduates?
This four-year Honours with Research degree combines clinical and counselling foundations with cognitive science, computational modelling, data reasoning and human-technology research. Its founding differentiator is a community and clinical practicum thread that begins in Year 1.
As one of WPU GŌA’s transdisciplinary, technological and transformative programmes, the degree uses Goa for residential community immersion, while preparing graduates for careers across India.
A four-year Honours with Research degree that builds from shared foundations into a Year 2 choice of track:
More than a traditional psychology degree: cognitive science, computational modelling, data reasoning and human-technology research sit alongside clinical and counselling foundations.
A community and clinical practicum thread runs through the degree, from the early years to a Year 4 clinical practicum or research placement.
Choose between the Clinical & Counselling and the Cognitive Science & AI tracks in Year 2.
An Asia immersion in Singapore and Japan, and a Europe immersion spanning LSE, UCL and future-of-work ecosystems, both built around behavioural science and psychology rather than a generic itinerary.
Every WPU GŌA student lives and learns on a campus built for human performance, with movement-friendly design, baseline health screening and annual performance monitoring woven into residential life. It is directly complementary to a psychology and well-being programme.
Universal requirement for all WPU GŌA students, developing ten essential graduate attributes and transversal skills across disciplines.
Year 1 psychology, research methods, AI fluency and data reasoning, progressing into a Year 2 track choice.
A community and clinical practicum across the early years, a mandatory internship in Year 3 with an optional global immersion, and a Year 4 clinical practicum or research/applied-AI placement.
The final semester (Industry Track 2) produces a capstone after five to six months in psychology, clinical or research practice.
Clinical foundations and counselling practice.
Computational modelling, data reasoning and human-technology research applied to psychology.
Running alongside both tracks:
Practice is built into the degree from the start, whichever track a student chooses.
