MoUs and Strategic Partnerships

Taking Transdisciplinary Learning Beyond Boundaries

At WPU GŌA, MoUs and strategic partnerships are built to take transdisciplinary learning beyond the classroom, beyond a single discipline and beyond traditional modes of education. These collaborations bring together academic, industry, research and institutional partners to generate new opportunities for hands-on learning, innovation, mentoring, internships and real-world problem-solving. The purpose is to help students see the links between ideas from different subjects, learn from a wide range of experts and use knowledge in ways that make a difference. With each partnership, WPU GŌA aims to develop confident learners who are ready for the future, able to think for themselves, work together and create solutions that have a real impact on the world.

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam)

WPU GŌA works closely with Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), one of the Netherlands’ leading research universities, through a partnership built around a shared commitment to transdisciplinary teaching, learning, and research.

Faculty from WPU GŌA are trained by leading experts from VU in exploring ways to bring transdisciplinary approaches into classroom teaching and research supervision. Our PhD scholars receive dedicated training from VU Amsterdam faculty, gaining exposure to cross-disciplinary research. The two universities also work together on curriculum development and shaping academic programmes that reflect WPU GŌA’s focus on sustainability and cross-disciplinary thinking.

Through this ongoing collaboration, our faculty and students gain first-hand exposure to global transdisciplinary research practices and teaching approaches that inform how we teach, supervise research, and design learning experiences. This partnership supports WPU GŌA’s vision of transdisciplinary education with a global outlook.
