About the Summit
Goa, renowned globally for its pristine beaches, rich biodiversity and unique cultural heritage, stands at a critical crossroads. As a microcosm of the global climate challenge, it faces pressing issues of coastal erosion, waste management crises, water resource pressures, and the need to balance tourism-driven economic growth with ecological preservation.
The Goa Global Sustainability Summit 2027 is conceived not just as a conference, but as a collaborative action platform. By leveraging Goa's unique position as a biodiversity hotspot and a hub for international tourism and business, the summit aims to set a regenerative roadmap for coastal and tropical economies worldwide.
The summit fosters cross-sectoral dialogue and partnerships that result in tangible commitments for a sustainable future, with a specific focus on coastal resilience, circular economies and inclusive community development.

Main Themes
Submissions are invited under any of the following five themes. Papers may be conceptual or empirical, and must be complete, original and unpublished.
Securing the Coast — Climate Adaptation & Infrastructure
Mangrove conservation, climate-resilient construction along coastlines, and early warning systems for extreme weather.
Circular Economy in Action — Waste to Wealth
Innovative solutions in solid waste management, wastewater treatment and reuse for water neutrality, and upcycling agricultural and hotel waste.
Green Finance and ESG Investment Landscape
How businesses can access green bonds, carbon credits and impact capital, with case studies of successful sustainability-linked investments in India.
Empowering Communities — The Just Transition
Skilling local youth for green jobs in solar installation, organic farming and eco-guiding; protecting the rights of traditional fishing communities; and ensuring energy democracy.

Publication Opportunity
As an output of the event, a book will be published by Springer Nature as part of the World Sustainability Series — the world's leading peer-reviewed book series on sustainable development. The peer-reviewed nature of the series means publications produced as part of it have been officially accepted for promotion and tenure purposes, and serve as validated outputs in PhD programmes.
A chapter submission for the book is not mandatory; it is only suggested.
