WPU GŌA joins the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP)
WPU GŌA is happy to announce that it has become a Member of the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP), a renowned global consortium coordinated by the Research and Transfer Centre Sustainability and Climate Change Management (FTZ-NK) at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
About IUSDRP
The Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme is an international network that helps its member universities consolidate and strengthen their work in the field of sustainable development, in close collaboration with the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education. It brings together researchers, academics, and institutions from across the globe under one unifying purpose: to accelerate meaningful action on sustainability through research, collaboration, and shared knowledge.
At its core, IUSDRP gives dedicated scholars at member universities a strong foundation for winning and running research projects, training PhD candidates, publishing in indexed journals, hosting high-profile events, and forging closer ties with peers across the global sustainability research community.
The programme’s flagship gathering, the biennial World Symposium on Sustainable Development at Universities (WSSDU), together with the World Sustainable Development Teach-In Days, brings together leading sustainability voices from higher education worldwide, giving members a genuine seat at the global table on this critical agenda.
IUSDRP’s areas of focus span the full breadth of sustainability challenges: renewable energy, sustainable production and consumption, water and waste management, sustainable transport, climate change adaptation and resilience, education for sustainable development, and campus greening. This scope closely mirrors the very issues WPU GŌA seeks to address through its own academic and community initiatives.
Why This Membership Matters for WPU GŌA
WPU GŌA was founded on the conviction that education must serve not only individual growth but the wellbeing of the planet and future generations. Membership in IUSDRP places that conviction within a larger, active global movement. It connects our faculty, researchers, and students to a worldwide community working toward the same horizon: a more sustainable, resilient world.
Through IUSDRP, our researchers can gain access to interdisciplinary, cross-border project teams, joint funding opportunities, and co-authorship possibilities in leading sustainability journals.
